THIS WORKSHOP IS DESIGNED TO START YOU ON YOUR PATH TO LIVING WITH A CONSCIOUS CYCLE.

Living with a Conscious Cycle is about more than knowing when your period is due. It is a personal practice of self-inquiry and care. Your inner guide, telling you when to go and when to slow. All you have to do is learn to listen.

LEt’s Gather together

learn how to relate to and talk about your cycle in a way that allows you to create meaning for yourself and those around you.

LIVING WITH CONScIOUS CYCLES IS ….

  • KNOWING WHAT DAY OF YOUR CYCLE YOU ARE ON & WHAT THAT MEANS FOR YOU.

  • NOTICING PATTERNS OF BEHAVIOUR AND EMOTIONS THAT REPEAT EACH MONTH.

  • GIVING YOURSELF WHAT YOU NEED EVEN DURING THE BUSIEST TIMES.

  • KNOWING YOURSELF DEEPY.

  • FINDING CONTEXT IN YOUR CYCLE. β€˜IT’S PERFECTLY NORMAL I FEEL THIS WAY, IT’S DAY 23.’

  • CONSIDERING HOW YOU MIGHT PLAN YOUR SCHEDULE TO ALIGN WITH YOUR CYCLE.

  • UNAPLOLGETIC, ESSENTIAL, REST.

β€˜Imagine that knowledge of the full spectrum and power of the menstrual cycle is commonplace, and we all feel the utter rightness of having this experience within us.’

β€” RED SCHOOL

WhAT WILL WE BE DOING?

1. EXPLORE THE STORY OF THE CYCLE.

We start by telling the story of the cycle, perhaps in a way that you have not heard before; using the seasons, the moon and other connected cycles of nature as a guide. We will traverse the physical, emotional, behavioural, and hormonal blueprint of each phase. We ground this information with the caveat that your experience could be completely different and we are not in the business of creating an ideal, illusive perfect cycle.

2. LEARN HOW TO TRACK YOUR CYCLE.

From there we will explore how you can track your cycle in a way that is meaningful and sustainable for you.

3. EXPERIENCE YOUR OWN CYCLE.

Through tracking you start to learn the story of your cycle, as it really is, not what you think it should be.

4. SHARING IN CYCLE CIRCLE

A huge part of this work is about connecting with others, talking and sharing our experience so, a month later we will meet again to share what we have uncovered about our cycle and look into how you can celebrate and honour your own cycle each month by designing a Day 1 Ritual.

In-person workshops have the Circle integrated into the workshop with an optional extra to meet again online in a month.

Who is this work for

This workshop is for women and people who menstruate and have felt that inner knowing that there could be more to their monthly cycle than just inconvenience. For those curious to learn more about their own patterns and understand their experience of the cycle.

This is an inclusive space, regardless of gender. If you feel drawn to the work, this space is for you.

The cycle is the monthly rhythm of your life that repeats continuously. The dominant cycle in each of us differs, although we will be working with the menstrual cycle predominately, those who are not currently cycling due to hormonal contraception, hormone replacement therapy or those who have finished their cycling years and are now navigating the world of menopause can still gain insight by learning about their cycle and can look to the moon phases as their guide for tracking.

If you are unsure if this work is for you, please get in touch.

  • Understand the Cycle

We create a common language by exploring the interconnected cycles of ourselves and nature. We will push through the limitations of the current language of cycles in order to tell our own meaningful story.

  • TRACK YOUR CYCLE

You will receive all the tools necessary to track your cycle in a way that is meaningful to you. The foundation of cycle awareness is being aware of your own experience throughout your cycle.

  • LIVE MORE CONSCIOUSLY

Begin your cycle awareness journey to knowing yourself, connecting to natures inner guide and how you can practically apply this knowing to your everyday life.

Where We will go

You will learn how to relate to and talk about your cycle in a way that allows you to create meaning for yourself and those around you.

How to track your cycle meaningfully, e.g., emotional patterns, energy levels, external elements, physical symptoms, and length.

How to get to know yourself better through your cycle, identify your needs and create a context for the ebbs and flow of life.

How to create meaning in your cycle, move past the notion that it is an inconvenience to be ignored and embrace it as your inner guide, telling you when to go and when to slow.

Where we will avoid:

Diagnosing menstrual, mental health or physical health conditions.

β€˜Rebalancing’ your hormones with dietary, lifestyle or β€˜wellness’ advice.

This work doesn’t encourage you to change, be more, be different, or follow someone else’s advice.

It is about becoming aware of your own experience, learning about and listening to yourself, and growing in a way that suits you.

create meaning in your cycle, move past the notion that it is an inconvenience to be ignored and embrace it as your inner guide, telling you when to go and when to slow.

DETAILS

The important bits . . .

  • If possible, try to work out what day of your cycle you are on; this can be done by figuring out day one of your last bleed (the first day you have full flow, not spotting), or if you are not cycling, Day one is the New Moon day. This is not essential but will help ground you in the theory from where you are in your cycle.

    • GROUNDING: Simple awareness and breathwork to open the space.

    • CHECK IN: What day are you on and one word to describe how you are.

    • THEORY:

      • The Language + Story of the Cycle.

  • I take the ethical considerations of my work extremely seriously to ensure we can collectively create a safe space of holding to explore the often-charged experiences and relationships we have with our cycle.

    I do this through:

    • TRAINING, ACCREDITATION & INSURANCE

    • WORKING WITHIN MY COMPETENCIES

    • RECOGNISING THE LIMITATIONS OF THE WORK

    • CONFIDENTIALITY

    TRAINING

I am a fully accredited Menstrulity Mentor with Red School, giving me the foundation to deliver the ideas around menstrual cycle awareness as a tool for knowing our inner selves.

I am a 250-hour trained and insured Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance Professionals in Flow, Yoga Nidra, Breathwork, Yin, & Restorative. This has allowed me to ground my cycle work in an awareness of the body, trauma response and practices that can aid and complement our cycle work.

    WHERE WE WILL GO

I am not a medical professional; therefore, I cannot give guidance on physical symptoms, fertility, hormone balancing or any other conditions related to the menstrual cycle. What we will do is explore the ways you can use menstrual cycle awareness and tracking to collect your own information about your symptoms, energy levels, and emotions that can be used alongside and shared with your medical or mental health care provider's guidance.

    CONFIDENTIALITY

Our online space will be confidential, and I outline that at the beginning of our session. Workshops will not be recorded to ensure the confidentiality of participants.

We discuss confidentiality at the start of in-person workshops.

I will not record or keep details about you beyond what is needed for contact and marketing purposes. You can opt-out at any time. My full terms & conditions and Privacy policy can be found here.

If you have any questions about these topics or the scope of my work, please feel free to reach out.

A practice to suit yourself

β€˜Every other practice I've ever had or explored spiritually or otherwise has asked or demanded that I'd be more. More still, more strong, more dedicated, more talented, more flexible, more beautiful, more intelligent, more mindful, more.

Perpetuating the relentless belief that I will never be enough.

Until I became conscious of my cycle and the practice of Menstruality. The practice that is already within me. It asks for nothing outwith myself, no one to answer or apologise to. No one to try to please. Asking only for my awareness, my curiosity and attention.

It gifts me the mystery. Just as I am, nothing more, nothing less.’

  • I have been working with my cycle for the past 7 years. It has informed how I live my life, how I work, rest and make sense of my wellbeing.

I have studied Menstruality Awareness and Leadership with pioneering teachers Alexandra Pope and Sjanie Hugo Wurlitzer, the creators of Red School and the authors of Wild Power and Wise Power.

I am an accredited Menstruality Mentor with Red School and a qualified and insured Yoga Teacher trained in Restorative, Yin, Flow and Yoga Nidra.

I have worked as a Graphic Designer but am currently studying for a Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I live cyclically in the Scottish, Perthshire Highlands, sailing on my boat Yellow Matilda, wild swimming or pottering around the Glens.
